The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) is currently inviting applications from qualified and experienced professionals for multiple positions based at the icipe Duduville Campus in Nairobi, Kenya. icipe is an internationally recognized research institution dedicated to improving livelihoods and environmental sustainability through innovative research in insect science and related disciplines. The current recruitment includes several roles spanning research, geospatial analysis, data management, project coordination, and technology architecture. Role Context

The Geospatial Data Clerk position supports the management and processing of spatial datasets used in research programs. The role focuses on data entry, data organization, and quality assurance for geospatial information collected through research and field activities.

  • Entering geospatial data into GIS databases and research systems.
  • Organizing spatial datasets collected during field surveys and research projects.
  • Supporting data cleaning and validation processes.
  • Assisting with digitization of maps and spatial records.
  • Maintaining geospatial data archives and documentation.
  • Supporting research teams in preparing spatial datasets for analysis.
  • Assisting in basic GIS mapping tasks and spatial data processing.
  • Maintaining accurate records of geospatial data sources and metadata.
  • Supporting field teams with geospatial data management requirements.
  • Ensuring proper storage and backup of spatial datasets.
