- Teach the principles of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) including spatial data acquisition, processing, and analysis.
- Supervise students in practical sessions on satellite image processing, photogrammetry, and spatial modeling.
- Conduct research on land use change, environmental monitoring, and spatial applications in natural resource management.
- Train students in the use of GIS and remote sensing software including ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI, and Google Earth Engine.
- Develop teaching materials on georeferencing, classification algorithms, and change detection techniques.
- Guide students in the integration of spatial data with GPS and other sensor technologies.
- Collaborate with government and development organizations on mapping and spatial analysis projects.
- Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.
REQUIREMENTS: PARTTIME LECTURER
- Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
- Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.
- Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;
- At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.
- Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered
- Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
