Job Summary
CHAK is seeking to hire an experienced Health Informatics (Data Management) Officer to strengthen data management systems and drive the automation of data processes. The role will be responsible for configuring and customizing the organization’s digital health reporting system, automating data exchange and quality assurance processes, and developing customized performance dashboards to support data-driven decision-making. The officer will be based in Meru under the Jamii Tekelezi project
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or any other related field
- Minimum of two years of proven experience in data management, digital health systems, or health informatics within the health sector
- Proficiency in interpreting healthcare trends and using tools like SQL, Apache Superset, Stata, or R for data exploration and visualization
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in DHIS2 configuration, systems customization, and maintenance
- Experience with relevant programming languages and technologies (e.g., Java, PostgreSQL, JavaScript)
- Understanding of national health information systems, MOH reporting requirements, and Taifa care EMR system

- Good communication skills- both written and oral
- Developing digital data collection tools, performing data cleaning, providing training and support for data entry, querying reports and generating performance dashboards
- Configure and customize digital platforms, including DHIS2, Kobo Collect, and other mobile applications, to meet CHAK data requirements, enhance functionality, and support efficient data flow across systems
- Automate data retrieval processes and integrate data systems with data visualization platforms to improve efficiency and provide real-time access to performance insights
- Facilitate seamless data exchange and system interoperability by integrating project information systems with other digital health platforms and electronic medical records (EMRs)
- Support capacity-building initiatives through training of end users and various projects on DHIS2 functionalities, data retrieval, interpretation, and use.
- Collaborate with Monitoring and Evaluation, ICT and other program teams to strengthen data management practices and align data systems with organization strategic plan
