Butali Sugar Mills Limited is an ultra-modern sugar manufacturing company within Kakamega County in Western part of Kenya. BSML seeks to recruit suitable candidates for the following open position:

Job Vacancy.

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR:

Excavator, Bulldozer, Grader, Shovel and Graber (Candidate should be able to operate all).

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Operate bulldozers to grade, level, and clear land for roads, building foundations, and drainage systems.

2. Follow engineering drawings, site plans, and verbal instructions to carry out assigned tasks.

3. Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation checks to ensure machine safety and readiness.

4. Maintain accurate records of equipment operation, hours worked, and fuel usage.

5. Monitor terrain conditions and operate machinery to minimize risks and improve efficiency.

6. Conduct basic maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and checking fluid levels.

7. Promptly report any mechanical issues or faults to the maintenance department.

8. Ensure safe equipment handling and compliance with site safety procedures.

9. Work closely with site engineers, surveyors, and other operators for project coordination.

10. Park, secure and clean the machine after daily operations.

Minimum Qualification and Requirements:

KCSE Certificate or equivalent.

Valid driving/operator license from a recognized authority.

Minimum of 3 years of experience operating bulldozers, preferably in a civil or construction setting.

Familiarity with bulldozer models such as CAT, Komatsu or equivalent.

Knowledge of site grading, land leveling and clearing techniques.
