Responsibilities or duties

• Teach the principles of historical research, historiography, and key historical events and periods.
• Supervise students in conducting historical research, archival studies, and oral history projects.
• Conduct research on topics in social, economic, and political history of the region and beyond.
• Train students in critical historical analysis, source evaluation, and contextual interpretation.
• Develop teaching materials on the evolution of political systems, culture, and technology.
• Guide students in understanding historical perspectives on contemporary social and political issues.
• Collaborate with heritage institutions and communities on history preservation and public history initiatives.
• Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

REQUIREMENTS: PARTTIME LECTURER

• Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
• Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.
• Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;
• At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.
• Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered
• Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
