Thika Technical Training Institute is a Government Technical Training institute established under the Ministry of Education, State Department for Vocational and Technical Training via certificate number MOHEST/GC/1459/011A. It stands at 45 acres of land. Its history dates back to 1949 when it was started as a vocational training center for former World War ll servicemen which was then elevated to technical high school where primary graduates were admitted for secondary education with a technical bias.

Responsibilities or duties

Undertaking training in area of specialization in accordance with the responsibilities

Preparing teaching "learning materials and scheme of works Setting and marking assignment

Supervising trainees •project and practical work

Preparing training documents undertaking training activities

Participating in development and review Of curricula

Participating in development of training manuals Setting, moderating and marking examination

Participating in trainee practical assessment performing any other function that is incidental or consequential to the functions Of the Departmen

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, or Equivalent Qualification from a recognized institution Diploma in Catering and Accommodation Will be an added advantage Be Licensed by WET Authority or meet the requirement for licensing by WETA
