Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee cleanliness, hygiene and presentation standards at Tamarind Mombasa. The role is responsible for ensuring that all dining areas, kitchen support spaces, restrooms, public and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and compliance, while supervising and guiding the housekeeping team to support smooth daily restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities across all restaurant areas, ensuring high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules, routines and standard operating procedures(SOPs).
  • Monitor the proper use of cleaning equipment, chemicals and supplies to minimize wastage and ensure safety compliance.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise housekeeping staff to maintain high performance and service standards.
  • Collaborate closely with restaurant management and kitchen teams to support efficient daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and statutory regulations.
  • Promote a strong culture of cleanliness, discipline, and attention to detail within the housekeeping team.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Housekeeping Operations or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory role within a housekeeping department, preferably in hospitality or restaurant operations.
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality operations systems and cleaning protocols.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Close attention to detail and commitment to maintaing quality standards.
