We are hiring an HR & Assistant Operations Manager to design, draft, and implement comprehensive HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks, building the department from scratch. The role involves managing daily HR and operational needs for a large, diverse workforce, with a focus on lower-cadre staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, draft, and implement comprehensive HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks, building the department from scratch.
- Introduce and manage HR information systems (HRIS) to streamline attendance, payroll data, and employee records.
- Lead end-to-end, high-volume recruitment drives to meet rapid operational scaling needs and design efficient onboarding programs.
- Manage daily HR and operational needs for a large, diverse workforce, with a focus on lower-cadre staff.
- Oversee disciplinary processes, grievance-handling mechanisms, and conflict resolution in strict accordance with the law to foster a positive work environment.
- Ensure 100% compliance with the Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and all relevant labor laws.
- Oversee statutory compliance and filings, including SHA, NSSF, PAYE, and other regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the custodian of workplace safety by overseeing OSHA compliance, conducting risk assessments, and managing health and safety committees.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Higher Diploma or certified certification in HR; valid registration and active membership with the relevant HR professional body (e.g., IHRM).
- Proven experience in a dual HR/Operations or structured HR role within a high-volume environment (such as manufacturing, logistics, hospitality, or agriculture).
- Demonstrated success in managing large workforces, particularly lower-cadre employees.
- Experience in setting up HR policies and OSH structures from the ground up.
- Deep, up-to-date understanding of local labor laws (Employment Act, OSHA, etc.) and statutory regulations.
