Responsibilities or duties

Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures that support the company’s goals and comply with Kenyan labour laws.

Advise the Chief Operations Officer, managers, and department heads on workforce planning, employee relations, organizational changes, and other HR matters.

Manage the full recruitment and onboarding process, including job advertising, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, contract preparation, salary discussions, and confirmation of new employees.

Manage employee performance by coordinating appraisals, supporting managers in setting goals, addressing performance gaps, and following up on employee development plans.

Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, workplace conflicts, staff welfare, engagement, and retention fairly and professionally.

Identify training needs, organize staff development programmes, assess their effectiveness, and support succession planning for key roles.

Manage employee records, payroll changes, benefits, HR reporting, and compliance while ensuring all HR information is accurate, confidential, and up to date.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.

At least 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resource Management, with a minimum of 2 years in an HR supervisory or managerial role.

Demonstrated experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits, and separation.

Good working knowledge of Kenyan labour laws, employment regulations, disciplinary procedures, and HR compliance requirements.

Experience developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, performance management systems, and employee engagement initiatives.

Experience working in a fast-paced organization. Previous experience in the media, broadcasting, communications, creative, or a related industry will be an added advantage.

Professional HR certification, such as CHRP, and active membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) will be an added advantage.
