We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Officer to lead our Human Resources function and support both our office-based employees and project site workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle from recruitment through to separation.
  • Coordinate recruitment, interviews, onboarding and staff inductions.
  • Prepare employment contracts, job descriptions and HR documentation.
  • Maintain employee records and personnel files.
  • Manage payroll preparation, salaries, wages, allowances, overtime and statutory deductions.
  • Administer leave, attendance, timesheets and workforce planning.
  • Manage HR requirements for office staff, engineers, project managers, supervisors and construction labourers.
  • Handle employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievances and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with the Kenyan Employment Act and all labour regulations.
  • Coordinate staff training and development programs.
  • Support mobilisation and demobilisation of project teams across multiple sites.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are adequately resourced.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Prepare monthly HR reports for management.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
  • Support workplace health, safety and wellbeing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' Human Resources experience.
  • Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or project-based organisations is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan employment legislation and labour relations.
  • Experience managing payroll and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with HRIS, ERP or Zoho systems is an advantage.
