Background

The Elgeyo Marakwet County Public Service Board recruits on merit, in an open and accountable process that reflects the face of the county.

Responsibilities

Firefighting, fire prevention and fire protection; Rescue people either from fires or dangerous situations and aircraft accidents; Inspection of appliances and equipment; Inspection of buildings to assess fire hazards and risks; Ensure soundness and adequacy of means of escape; Conduct fire demonstrations, drills, lectures and preparation for fire evacuation orders.

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, an applicant MUST have: -

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent and relevant qualifications from a recognized institution;
• First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John’s Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT), Kenya Red Cross Society or any other recognized institution;

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: associate degree
