TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR AN INTERIOR DESIGNER AT LEHEM INTERIORS LTD

Position: Interior Designer

Company: Lehem Interiors

Location: Nairobi

Lehem Interiors Limited is seeking for a creative and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing interior design concepts, preparing technical drawings, and coordinating projects from concept to completion while ensuring high-quality, functional and aesthetically appealing spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet clients to understand design requirements, budgets and timelines.
  • Develop design concepts, mood boards, space plans and presentations.
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings (100 & 200 series) including floor plans, elevations and lighting layouts.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and consultants during project execution.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure projects align with design intent.
  • Support procurement process of furniture, fixtures and finishes (FF&E).
  • Monitor project budgets and timelines.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide professional design advice.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an interior design or architectural firm.
  • Proven experience handling residential, commercial or hospitality projects.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design creativity and technical capability.
  • Working knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, Lumion, Photoshop or similar software.

Competencies & skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
  • Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and construction methods.
  • Excellent communication, creativity, and project coordination skills.
