Responsibilities or duties
- Conducting internal inspections across farms, production units, and collection centers in line with ICS procedures
- Verifying compliance with organic farming practices, including field management, harvesting, and input usage
- Carrying out yield estimation and balance verification to ensure accuracy and accountability
- Identifying non-compliance issues and recommending corrective actions, with follow-through on implementation
- Supporting farmer training and on-site guidance to improve adherence to standards
- Ensuring traceability of produce and maintaining accurate compliance records
- Preparing detailed inspection reports and supporting documentation for audits and certification processes
- Collaborating with field officers, buying clerks, and internal teams to ensure quality and efficiency
- Monitoring ongoing compliance and proactively reporting any violations
Qualifications or requirements
- Diploma in Agriculture or a related field
- Strong understanding of organic farming standards, Fair Trade principles, and climate-smart agriculture
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and digital data collection tools
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Willingness to spend extended time in the field
- Fluency in English and Swahili
- Valid motorcycle riding license with practical riding experience
Experience needed
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in agriculture, compliance, or a related role
