Responsibilities or duties

  • Conducting internal inspections across farms, production units, and collection centers in line with ICS procedures
  • Verifying compliance with organic farming practices, including field management, harvesting, and input usage
  • Carrying out yield estimation and balance verification to ensure accuracy and accountability
  • Identifying non-compliance issues and recommending corrective actions, with follow-through on implementation
  • Supporting farmer training and on-site guidance to improve adherence to standards
  • Ensuring traceability of produce and maintaining accurate compliance records
  • Preparing detailed inspection reports and supporting documentation for audits and certification processes
  • Collaborating with field officers, buying clerks, and internal teams to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Monitoring ongoing compliance and proactively reporting any violations

Qualifications or requirements 

  • Diploma in Agriculture or a related field
  • Strong understanding of organic farming standards, Fair Trade principles, and climate-smart agriculture
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and digital data collection tools
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Willingness to spend extended time in the field
  • Fluency in English and Swahili
  • Valid motorcycle riding license with practical riding experience

Experience needed

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in agriculture, compliance, or a related role
