Background
Warehouse Receipt System Council (WRSC) is a State Corporation in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and cooperatives established by the Warehouse Receipt System Act No. 8 0f 2019. Warehouse Receipt System (WRS) is a process where owners of commodities (Farmers or Aggregators) deposit their commodities in a certified warehouse and are issued with a warehouse receipt.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Implementing guidelines, standards, frameworks and plans on Investment promotion.
- Scanning and proposing potential investment opportunities.
- Supporting investments in the development of privately and publicly managed warehouses.
- Implementing business and investments plans in collaborations with stakeholders.
- Undertaking market surveys to identify investments and business opportunities.
- Facilitating implementation of investment projects on marketing.
- Mapping of investment opportunities along the value chain and preparing investor’s profiles.
- Linking depositors to financial institutions for warehouse receipt financing.
- Preparing investment promotion programmes in local and international markets.
- Identifying trends and growth opportunities for WRS Investment.
- Preparing content on investor manuals.
- Participating in investor conferences, forums and related activities on WRS.
- Preparing a program on aftercare for investors.
- Linking investors to value chains participating in WRS.
- Analysing investment promotion data.
- Participating in investment promotion activities and compiling reports.
Person Specifications
Mandatory requirements:
- Have served in the grade of Investment Promotion Officer II for a minimum period of three (3) years.
- Have a Bachelor degree in any the following disciplines: Marketing, Business Management, Commerce, Agribusiness, Business Administration or equivalent degree.
- Be Proficient in Computer applications.
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
- Implementing guidelines, standards, frameworks and plans on Investment promotion.
- Scanning and proposing potential investment opportunities.
- Supporting investments in the development of privately and publicly managed warehouses.
- Implementing business and investments plans in collaborations with stakeholders.
