About UN‑Habitat

UN‑Habitat is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable and resilient towns and cities. It is the focal point agency for urbanization and human settlement matters within the UN system, envisioning well‑planned, well‑governed, and efficient cities with adequate housing, infrastructure, and universal access to employment and basic services.

  • Provide technical expertise on landscape planning and design for the Park City Initiative Project.
  • Conduct research on nature‑positive urban planning, green infrastructure, and monitoring of urban SDG progress.
  • Develop concept notes, talking points, event reports, and preparation materials for international events.
  • Communicate and coordinate with relevant offices and teams for dissemination of project outputs.
  • Support broader Planning and Finance Section (PFS) and UN‑Habitat initiatives.

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Policy, Development Studies, or related field.
  • A first‑level degree plus two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in urban planning, urban design, landscape planning, or ecological design.
  • Experience working with an international organization is desirable.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese required.
  • Knowledge of another UN language desirable.
