Are you a detail-oriented governance professional who thrives on protecting integrity? We are seeking a Lead Controller - Audit, Risk & Compliance to oversee operations across all branches. In this role, you will be the eye and ears on ensuring every outlet strictly adheres to company SOPs, regulatory requirements, and financial controls. Your work will directly contribute to reducing operational losses, preventing fraud, and strengthening our internal control environment. If you have a sharp eye for irregularities, a passion for process improvement, and the confidence to speak up when things don't look right, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance & Operational Monitoring
- Monitor branch operations to ensure full adherence to company SOPs and operational procedures.
- Conduct regular compliance checks and flag areas of non-compliance with documented reports.
- Drive consistent implementation of company policies across all units.
- Risk Assessment & Management
- Identify operational risks within branch activities and conduct periodic risk assessments across departments.
- Maintain intense focus on high-risk areas: cash handling, inventory management, and procurement processes.
- Recommend practical controls to mitigate identified risks.
- Inventory & Asset Controls
- Perform regular stock audits and inventory verification to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate stock discrepancies, shrinkage, and unusual usage patterns.
- Support the implementation and refinement of inventory control systems.
- Operational Audits
- Execute operational checks on cash controls, POS procedures, and staff compliance.
- Support internal audit fieldwork across multiple branches, documenting findings and providing actionable recommendations.
- Fraud & Loss Prevention
- Assist in investigations related to suspected fraud, theft, or misconduct.
- Report suspicious activities or irregularities immediately to the Head of Department.
- Support the rollout of loss prevention strategies and awareness initiatives.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare clear, concise compliance and risk monitoring reports.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of all inspections, audit findings, and corrective action plans.
- Track and verify the closure of corrective actions to ensure issues do not recur.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification (Preferred): CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent professional qualification is a strong advantage.
- Experience: 3-5 years in risk, compliance, internal audit, internal controls, or a similar governance role.
- Industry Background: Experience in retail, hospitality, food & beverage, manufacturing, or multi-site operations is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, compliance monitoring, control testing, and report writing. Familiarity with anti-fraud regulations, data protection, labour law, health & safety, and financial controls.
- Tech Skills: Strong computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and basic data analysis.
