Responsibilities or duties

Provide personalised 1:1 academic and social-emotional support based on individual learner needs

Differentiate instruction, learning materials, and assessments to ensure meaningful access to the curriculum

Support learners in developing independence, confidence, self-regulation, and effective learning strategies

Deliver high-quality, inquiry-based learning support aligned with Common Core Standards

Create a supportive, inclusive, and appropriately challenging learning environment

Monitor, document, and communicate learner progress and support needs

Use assessment information to inform teaching and adapt support strategies

Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and the Inclusion and Student Support team

Communicate effectively with learners, families, colleagues, and other members of the school community

Contribute to curriculum planning, student support, and professional learning

Support learners in participating meaningfully in classroom activities and the wider school community

Participate in school events, projects, and community initiatives

Uphold Woodland Star’s mission, values, safeguarding expectations, and Behaviour Code

Qualifications or requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Special Needs Education

Valid teacher certification

Valid TSC Number (mandatory)

In-depth understanding of child development and diverse learning needs

Strong ability to differentiate instruction, materials, and assessments

Strong organisational and record-keeping skills

Ability to adapt quickly to changing learner needs

Reflective approach and commitment to continuous professional growth

Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset

International or multicultural experience preferred

Strong alignment with Woodland Star’s mission and values

Current police clearance/background check

Certified copies of academic and professional documents

At least two professional references

Experience needed

Minimum two years’ teaching experience
