JOB DETAILS:

Responsibilities or duties

• Teach the principles of linguistics including phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, and language acquisition.
• Supervise students in linguistic research, fieldwork, and corpus-based language analysis.
• Conduct research on language structure, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, and language preservation.
• Train students in language documentation, translation, and linguistic analysis techniques.
• Develop teaching materials on language variation, change, and language policy.
• Guide students in understanding the role of language in cognition, culture, and communication.
• Collaborate with communities on language revitalization and mother-tongue education projects.
• Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

REQUIREMENTS: PARTTIME LECTURER

i. Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.

ii. Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.

iii. Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;

iv. At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.

v. Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered

vi. Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.

Experience needed

vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.

At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.
