AA Kenya is the oldest and largest automobile association in Kenya with over 100,000 members and branch offices in all major towns countrywide. Internationally we are affiliated with the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) which represents over 100 million motorists worldwide.
Role Description
The Manager, Digital Platforms & Marketplace Growth will own the commercial success of AA Kenya's two fully built digital platforms; AA Rescue and AA Valuation. This is a go-to-market and business growth role, not a technology role. The position holder will be accountable for building a two sided marketplace: recruiting and activating service providers on the supply side, while driving customer adoption and revenue on the demand side. The position holder will report directly to the Director of Mobility Services and will build and lead a team from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Go-To-Market Strategy: Develop and execute the commercialisation strategy for both platforms, define a three year growth roadmap, and design pricing, commission, and monetisation frameworks.
- Supply Side Growth: Recruit, onboard, and retain service providers including garages, towing operators, mechanics, independent valuers, and inspection centres across Kenya.
- Demand Side & Revenue Growth: Drive platform adoption and transaction volumes by targeting insurance companies, fleet operators, banks, SACCOs, vehicle dealerships, and individual motorists through enterprise sales and key account management.
- Strategic Partnerships: Build and manage partnerships with insurers, lenders, transport associations, government bodies, and mobility technology providers to position AA Kenya as Kenya's preferred mobility platform.
- Team Building & Leadership: Recruit and lead a high-performing team covering business development, partner onboarding, and customer acquisition.
- Performance Management & Reporting: Own platform analytics, monitor KPIs weekly, and deliver monthly performance reports to senior management.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, or a related field. An MBA is a strong advantage.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in marketplace growth, business development, digital platforms, or commercial leadership.
- Minimum 4 years in a management role with P&L or revenue accountability.
- Demonstrated experience growing both supply and demand in a marketplace or platform business.
- Experience in mobility, fintech, e-commerce, logistics, or digital ecosystems strongly preferred.
- Candidates with experience in a digital marketplace, platform economy, ride hailing, e-commerce, logistics tech, fintech, or tech enabled business will have a distinct advantage.
