Manager- Regulatory & Public Policy will work with Wananchi Regulatory Affairs Department, including but not limited to supporting all entities within Wananchi Group (“Wananchi Portfolio”) in various jurisdictions. The candidate will manage a company's engagement with regulators to shape policy, navigate complex regulations, and advance Wananchi business objectives.

• Ensure compliance with Laws, regulations, and licences; filing of returns and reporting; amongst others as stipulated by the various regulators in various jurisdictions
• Identify, track and manage regulatory issues and policy across all our markets and advise on regulatory issues arising from key stakeholder relationships
• Influence relevant legislation and work with relevant organizations to secure successful outcomes
• Obtain and evaluate information about competition, market trends, threats and opportunities, and use these to ensure the organization meets its goals
• Represent the organization in public forums and hearings and be responsible for regulator engagement, licence renewals, licence acquisitions etc
• Monitor developing economic, political and social issues that may have material regulatory risk on the business
• Process and oversee payment of all invoices within the department
• Assist the Director- Legal & Regulatory and undertake other duties as may be assigned from time to time

• A degree in Economics & Statistics or Law (LLB)
• 5-7 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally from in-house environment or as a regulatory professional or public policy professional in regulated sector
• Experience operating in a cross-border regulatory environment
• Experience engaging directly with regulators and managing license processes
