Role Context

The Master Data Data Quality Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the highest standards of data quality for master data across the KCB Group. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness of master data, which underpins all critical business processes and decision-making.

Responsibilities

The Master Data Data Quality Manager will be expected to:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data quality strategy and framework for master data.
  • Define and monitor data quality metrics and KPIs for master data.
  • Establish data quality rules and standards for master data elements.
  • Oversee the execution of data quality assessment and profiling activities.
  • Lead data cleansing and remediation efforts for master data issues.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure data quality alignment.
  • Implement data governance policies and procedures related to master data quality.
  • Manage and mentor a team of data quality analysts.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in data quality and master data management.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in data quality management, master data management, or data governance.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience with data profiling, data cleansing, and data enrichment techniques.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is an advantage.

Experience Needed

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data quality management or master data management. Experience in a leadership role is preferred.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, Kenya. The role offers a dynamic and challenging work environment within a leading financial institution.
