MATHEMATICS LEARNING SUPPORT TEACHER – JUNIOR SCHOOL

Mirema School – Gateway to Excellence (Christian School)

We are a Christian school in the education sector seeking a qualified Learning Support teacher (focused on Mathematics) in Junior School. The role involves providing individualized and small-group instructional support to learners with diverse academic, developmental, or behavioral needs, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

(Same as English Learning Support role above, adapted to Mathematics focus—tailored interventions in numeracy and related skills, etc.)

Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction tailored to students’ individual learning needs.

Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, and executive functioning skills.

Identify and address gaps in foundational academic skills.

Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with identified learning needs.

Provide direct support to students within the general education classroom setting.

Assist learners with smooth transitions between subjects and learning activities.

Apply a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles, including tactile, visual, and multisensory approaches.

Ensure proper organization, use, and management of instructional and learning materials provided.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience (in a classroom setup) as a Special Needs teacher or equivalent in a reputable organization.

Degree or Diploma in Special Needs Education.

TSC number.

Proficiency in Computer Applications.

Skills and Attributes:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Patience and empathy.

Computer literacy.

Collaboration skills.

Organizational skills.
