Role Context
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Officer to join our team at Avenue Hospital, Parklands. The Medical Officer will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care, managing medical conditions, and contributing to the overall health and well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities
The Medical Officer will be responsible for the following:
- Conducting patient consultations, examinations, and diagnoses.
- Prescribing appropriate medications and treatment plans.
- Performing minor surgical procedures and interventions.
- Interpreting diagnostic test results, including laboratory and imaging reports.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient medical records.
- Participating in medical rounds, case discussions, and continuing medical education.
- Adhering to ethical standards and hospital policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- MBChB or equivalent degree from a recognized medical school.
- Valid registration and current practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- Minimum of 2 years of post-internship experience in a clinical setting.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
