MEDICAL REPRESENTATIVE

Job Title: Medical Representative
Locations:

  • Kisii
  • Mombasa
  • Nairobi & Mt. Kenya Region

Department: Sales & Marketing
Reports To: Sales Supervisor

Job Purpose

To promote and sell the company's pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals and institutions, build long-term customer relationships, and achieve assigned sales targets within the designated territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote the company's pharmaceutical products to doctors, pharmacists, clinical officers, hospitals, and healthcare facilities.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets within the assigned territory.
  • Increase product awareness through regular customer visits and scientific product detailing.
  • Secure and maintain product listings in hospitals and healthcare institutions.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base.
  • Monitor competitor products, pricing, and promotional activities.
  • Organize product presentations and Continuous Medical Education (CME) sessions where appropriate.
  • Prepare and submit timely sales reports, call plans, and market feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical marketing ethics and company policies.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare providers and distributors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Biomedical Sciences, Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1.5 years' experience in pharmaceutical sales within the Kenyan market.
  • Experience promoting pain management and antibiotic products is required.
  • Experience in hospital sales and institutional product listing is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of the Kenyan healthcare system and pharmaceutical industry.
  • Valid driving licence is an added advantage.
