Nature for Health Kenya Project Intern

Responsibilities or duties

  • Assist the Nature for Health (N4H) Team in organizing meetings and workshops, including preparing documents and managing logistics.
  • Support development of communications materials (print, online, social media).
  • Draft technical documents and reports.
  • Communicate with partners, consultants, and implementers on programmatic activities.
  • Undertake targeted desktop research to compile background information, facts, and data.
  • Track key policy developments relevant to the project.
  • Support other tasks as required, aligned with intern’s interests and experience.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Enrolled in or completed a graduate program (Master’s or equivalent), or final year of a Bachelor’s program.
  • Background in health sciences, One Health, environmental management, biodiversity conservation, development studies, or social sciences.
  • Computer literacy in standard software applications.
  • Demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations and commitment to the UN Charter.
  • Ability to interact successfully with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.

Experience needed

  • Experience in sustainable development desirable.
  • Experience in organizing events, conferences, or meetings desirable.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills required.

  • Internships are not financially remunerated by the United Nations.
  • Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
