Responsibilities or duties

  • Take overall charge of the ward/unit during the assigned shift.
  • Coordinate nursing staff and allocate duties effectively.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Supervise medication administration and clinical procedures.
  • Manage incidents, escalations, and shift handovers.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and nursing standards.
  • Liaise with doctors and other departments as required.

Qualifications or requirements 

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
  • Valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) practicing license.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts at short notice.

Experience needed

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Nurse In-Charge/ Covering Nurse in a busy hospital.

  • Immediate availability is an added advantage.
