Theatre Nursing and peri-operative patient care
We are looking for professionals who are dedicated to compassionate patient care, clinical professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement in service delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution
- Valid Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) practicing license
- Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant clinical experience
- Demonstrated hands-on experience and strong competency in:
- Ability to competently manage patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings
- Strong clinical assessment, patient monitoring, and emergency response skills
- Good understanding of infection prevention and control protocols
- Experience using hospital management systems and proper clinical documentation practices will be an added advantage
- Experience working in a busy private Level 4 hospital setup will be highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment
- High level of professionalism, integrity, accountability, and compassion toward patients
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be expected to:
- Provide safe, high-quality, and patient-centered nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards
- Participate actively in patient assessment, treatment planning, monitoring, and follow-up care
- Support maternity, MCH, theatre, and other specialized clinical services as assigned
- Prepare and assist during theatre procedures while ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and theatre protocols
- Monitor patient progress, identify changes in condition, and escalate appropriately where necessary
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records and nursing documentation
- Administer medications and treatments safely as prescribed
- Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality assurance standards
- Educate patients and relatives on treatment plans, medication use, and preventive healthcare practices
- Collaborate effectively with doctors, clinicians, laboratory staff, and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in departmental meetings, continuous medical education (CMEs), and quality improvement initiatives
