Makueni County Public Service Board is a body corporate established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act 2012 whose mandate includes appointing persons to hold or act in the offices of County Public Service. In order to strengthen the capacity of the Public Service, the Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions as per Section 59 of the County Governments' Act 2012.
Responsibilities or duties
Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:
- Implementing nutrition programmes;
- Providing nutrition services in health care facilities;
- Conducting nutrition assessments;
- Collecting and compiling nutrition data;
- Providing nutrition health education and demonstrations;
- Counseling of patients with specific nutritional needs;
- Monitoring preparation of therapeutic feeds;
- Implementing outpatient and inpatient supplementary and therapeutic feeding programmes;
- Promoting maternal, infant and young children feeding programmes; and
- Providing micronutrient supplementation.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Diploma in Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition or Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized institution;
- Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution;
- Registration by the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI); and
- Valid practicing licence from Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI).
