OSP Technician

LOCATION: NAIROBI

We are thrilled to announce an opening for the position of OSP Technician at Fireside Group Ltd. All interested candidates are encouraged to apply.

Education and Qualification

  • Minimum Certificate in Fiber optics.
  • Atleast 2 years experience on Fiber optics.
  • Proficiency in fiber handling & maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle client requests for new connections, updates, reports, and NOC-managed info.
  • Perform regular maintenance and inspections of fiber and copper networks.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and extend equipment life.
  • Ensure cable paths, enclosures, and cabinets are secure, labelled, and meet quality standards.
  • Use OTDR, fusion splicers, and power meters to diagnose cable issues.
  • Collaborate with network monitoring teams to resolve faults and improve performance.
  • Assist with installation, splicing, and termination of fiber and copper cables.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in tracking systems.
  • Work to minimize service disruption and protect network integrity.
  • Use monitoring and ticketing tools to manage installation and support requests.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with QEHS standards.
