DECLARATION FOR PART TIME TEACHING VACANCIES FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC YEAR

In pursuit of its mission and core mandate, Jaramogi Odinga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) wishes to invite applications from suitable qualified candidates to take up Part time teaching Positions in the following fields.

A). PARTTIME LECTURER

Job Description

i). Teaching undergraduate students or postgraduate students;

ii). Preparing learning and teaching materials to enable better delivery of content and achievement of the objectives of the course;

iii). Delivering the course content to students through lectures ensuring that they follow the course objectives;

iv). Evaluating the delivery models and make appropriate improvements to ensure quality teaching and learning;

v). Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations;

vi). Carrying out necessary for curriculum; identify the content gaps in order to produce competent graduates;

vii). Participation in the University activities; open day, field day, exhibition for the enhancements of the image of the University.

D). REQUIREMENTS: PARTTIME LECTURER

i). Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution and possess vast teaching or industry experience in undergraduate/ postgraduate levels.

ii). Applicants who have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.

iii). Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;

iv). At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.

v). Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered.

vi). Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.

E). TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing Terms and Conditions of Service.
