Job Role
The Pediatric Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents. With experience in immunization programs and private healthcare practice, the role ensures safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care. The ideal candidate is empathetic, detail-oriented, and skilled in both preventive and curative pediatric nursing services, with strong communication abilities to support children and their families.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Deliver high-quality pediatric nursing care.
- Support immunization programs and preventive health initiatives.
- Provide education and guidance to parents and guardians.
- Ensure compliance with clinical standards and safety protocols.
- Strengthen patient trust and satisfaction in private healthcare settings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pediatric Nursing Care
- Provide direct nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents.
- Monitor growth, development, and overall health status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Support pediatricians during clinical procedures.
Immunization & Preventive Care
- Administer vaccines according to national immunization schedules.
- Educate parents on vaccine importance, side effects, and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate immunization records and reporting.
- Participate in community outreach and awareness programs.
Patient & Family Support
- Offer counseling and health education to families.
- Provide emotional support to children during treatment.
- Guide parents on nutrition, hygiene, and child development.
- Handle patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism.
Clinical Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate patient records and nursing notes.
- Prepare immunization and pediatric care reports.
- Ensure compliance with private healthcare documentation standards.
- Support audits and quality assurance processes.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with pediatricians, medical officers, and other nurses.
- Participate in training and professional development.
- Contribute to process improvements in pediatric care delivery.
- Uphold ethical and professional nursing standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Diploma in Nursing with pediatric specialization.
- Registered Nurse with valid practicing license.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in pediatric nursing, including immunization programs.
- Experience in private healthcare facilities is highly preferred.
