Job Summary
The jobholder will be responsible for maintaining pension records, processing and reviewing member benefits, verifying pension documentation, and supporting trust fund administration in line with approved policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the administration of the Scheme in line with the Trust Deed and Rules, policies, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate pension, contribution, and member records, including post-retirement medical records.
- Process and review pension benefits for retiring members, pensioners, dependents, and beneficiaries.
- Verify and certify pension calculations, payroll changes, benefit payments, and related documentation.
- Support management and administration of trust funds for minors and beneficiaries in line with approved guidelines and legal requirements.
- Reconcile pension records, contributions, and membership data in liaison with relevant departments and service providers.
- Ensure timely processing and payment of pension and related benefits.
- Provide pension information, guidance, and support to members, pensioners, and dependents.
- Maintain proper filing, archiving, and safe custody of pension records and documents.
- Support compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
- Assist in coordination of member engagement activities including Member education and Annual General Meetings (AGMs).
Person Specifications
For appointment to this job, the candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ work experience in pension administration.
- Proficiency in ICT applications.
- Professional training in pensions or retirement benefits administration, including the Trustee Development Programme Kenya (TDPK), will be an added advantage.
- Accounting qualifications will be an added advantage.
