Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international independent medical humanitarian organization. We offer assistance to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, exclusion from healthcare, natural disasters or forces of conflict. MSF provides independent, impartial assistance to those most in need.

Context

MSF is currently recruiting a Pharmacist to be based in Nairobi. The role involves ensuring the proper management and supply of medicines and medical supplies within MSF projects in Kenya.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the pharmacy stock, including ordering, receiving, storing, and dispensing medicines and medical supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with MSF protocols and national regulations for pharmaceutical management.
  • Provide technical support and training to medical staff on rational drug use and pharmaceutical management.
  • Maintain accurate records of all pharmaceutical transactions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of pharmaceutical policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
  • Registered and licensed by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English and Swahili.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical management, preferably in a humanitarian or NGO setting.
