Background

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 237 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. The Commission is mandated to manage human resource functions for teachers in public institutions across the country. Its responsibilities include recruitment, deployment, promotion, discipline, and professional development of teachers, as well as ensuring quality standards in the teaching profession.

Through its mandate, the Commission plays a vital role in strengthening Kenya’s education system by ensuring that the teaching workforce is effectively managed and supported. The Commission works to enhance professionalism within the education sector while promoting accountability, transparency, and equitable access to quality education.

In line with its mandate to strengthen leadership, management, and professional oversight within the teaching service, the Teachers Service Commission invites applications from qualified, result-oriented, and highly motivated Kenyan citizens to fill several vacant positions across various directorates and functional areas of the Commission.

Role Context

The Principal Officer – Teacher Discipline Management supports disciplinary processes within the teaching service to maintain professionalism and accountability.

  • Supporting investigation of teacher misconduct and disciplinary cases
  • Coordinating disciplinary hearings and documentation processes
  • Preparing case reports and disciplinary recommendations
  • Maintaining records of disciplinary proceedings and outcomes
  • Supporting implementation of disciplinary policies and regulations
  • Liaising with relevant authorities on disciplinary matters
  • Supporting compliance with professional conduct standards
  • Monitoring resolution of disciplinary cases
