JOB DETAILS:

The successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing Terms and Conditions of Service.

Responsibilities or duties

• Teach the fundamental principles and methods of epidemiology including measures of disease frequency, association, and causation.
• Supervise students in the design and conduct of descriptive and analytical epidemiological studies.
• Conduct research on disease patterns, risk factors, and burden of disease in the community.
• Train students in outbreak investigation protocols and field epidemiological methods.
• Develop teaching materials on study designs including cross-sectional, case-control, and cohort studies.
• Guide students in the critical appraisal of epidemiological literature and systematic review methods.
• Collaborate with public health teams on disease surveillance and early warning systems.
• Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

i. Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.

ii. Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.

iii. Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;

iv. At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.

v. Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered

vi. Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.

Experience needed

At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.
