Role Purpose
Provide substantial support to project management, financial and administrative oversight, and monitoring of Durable Solutions Programmes within the Somalia Programme. Contribute to profiling and strengthening UN‑Habitat’s Durable Solutions portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage Durable Solutions Programmes and project activities.
Align workplans and tasks among partners and stakeholders.
Monitor progress, analyze challenges, and propose corrective actions.
Manage Agreements of Cooperation with implementing partners.
Support planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.
Facilitate coordination among UN partners, government actors, and technical teams.
Undertake field missions and prepare mission reports.
Assist in budget preparation, funding proposals, and donor communications.
Draft concept notes, project documentation, and visibility materials.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Advanced university degree (Master’s) in International Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ progressively responsible experience in project coordination.
- Experience managing complex multi‑partner projects in migration, displacement, or resilience.
- Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
Desirable
- Prior experience in Somalia with UN agencies or multilateral institutions.
- Experience working with government counterparts and local authorities.
- Fluency in Somali language.
