Role Purpose
Talent Grid Africa on behalf of their client, a non-profit organization is hiring a Programs Coordinator to be the cornerstone of company’s expansion. The Programs Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the successful rollout and delivery of Business Development Services (BDS) programs within the region. The role combines program coordination, operational setup, and direct entrepreneur support, ensuring effective implementation of the company’s model while driving the growth and sustainability of local enterprises. Working closely with the Regional Manager, this position will help establish strong operational systems, deliver high-quality business advisory services, and support entrepreneurs in achieving business growth and investment readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute BDS program activities in line with organizational frameworks, policies, and timelines.
- Support the setup and stabilization of regional operations, including systems, tools, and workflows.
- Develop and maintain implementation plans, schedules, and activity trackers.
- Ensure smooth rollout of outreach, onboarding, and program delivery activities.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies, reporting standards, and documentation requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes during the regional expansion phase.
- Lead delivery of business advisory support to entrepreneurs within the region.
- Conduct business assessments to identify needs, challenges, and growth opportunities.
- Provide tailored one-on-one and group coaching in: Business planning, financial management, Marketing and sales strategies, Operations and growth planning
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for entrepreneurs.
- Coordinate external advisors, consultants, and mentors supporting program delivery.
- Track entrepreneur progress and document outcomes for reporting and learning.
- Support development and localization of BDS tools, templates, and training materials.
- Support entrepreneurs in achieving investment readiness through targeted coaching and mentorship.
- Conduct business performance reviews using tools such as DigiKua or similar systems.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and support business model refinement.
- Track performance of businesses receiving funding or loans.
- Assist with follow-ups, repayment monitoring, and portfolio tracking.
- Liaise with Regional Manager and Investment Teams on business performance and risks.
- Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions for regional staff, partners, and business coaches.
- Build strong relationships with entrepreneurs, partners, and ecosystem stakeholders.
- Provide ongoing mentorship to support entrepreneur growth and decision-making.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and learning across the regional program.
Key Requirements
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in business advisory, incubator/accelerator management, or operational roles within the development or startup sector.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of business fundamentals (financial modelling, marketing strategy, and operational efficiency).
- Startup Mindset: Proven ability to build systems from the ground up and adapt to the fluid environment of a new regional launch.
- Communication: Exceptional facilitation and coaching skills, with the ability to translate complex business concepts for diverse audiences.
- Tools: Proficiency in data tracking tools and business management software (e.g., DigiKua or similar CRM/ERP systems)
- Strategic Execution: The ability to turn a high-level operating model into actionable daily tasks.
- Empathy & Leadership: A genuine passion for supporting underserved entrepreneurs and the patience to guide them through growth challenges.
- Operational Excellence: High attention to detail regarding documentation, process adherence, and reporting.
