About TISA

TISA (The Institute for Social Accountability) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting good governance and social accountability in Kenya. We work to empower citizens and communities to demand transparency and accountability from their leaders and institutions.

Role Context

TISA is seeking to recruit a dynamic and results-oriented Programs Officer to join our team. The Programs Officer will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of various programs aimed at achieving TISA's objectives. This role requires a proactive individual with strong project management skills and a passion for social justice and good governance.

Responsibilities

The Programs Officer will be expected to:

• Develop and manage program work plans, budgets, and timelines.
• Coordinate and oversee the implementation of program activities.
• Monitor program progress and evaluate outcomes against set objectives.
• Prepare regular program reports for management and stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
• Contribute to program design, proposal development, and fundraising efforts.
• Ensure compliance with TISA's policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in program management, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Proven experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Strong understanding of governance, accountability, and citizen participation issues in Kenya.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office Suite.
