About CASCADE
The CAtalyzing Strengthened policy aCtion for heAlthy Diets and resiliencE (CASCADE) program works to improve food security and reduce malnutrition for 5 million people, focusing on women of reproductive age and children in Benin, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Uganda.
Through an advocacy-driven approach, CASCADE:
- Increases access to and consumption of healthy diets
- Strengthens household resilience to economic and climate-related shocks
The program strengthens nutrition policies, engages governments and private sector partners, mitigates harmful cultural norms, empowers families, and systematizes data for informed decision-making.
CASCADE is a 4.5-year program, now in its third year, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and led by CARE Netherlands, in partnership with CARE USA, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and local partners.
