MSH Kenya seeks to recruit a highly-motivated and result-oriented individual as a Project Associate for a five-year program (20182024), funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTPS) Program provides pharmaceutical system strengthening assistance for sustained improvements in health system performance and to advance USAID's goals of preventing child and maternal deaths, controlling the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and combatting infectious disease threats, as well as expanding essential health coverage. PROJECT ASSOCIATE: ID: 13-10628 Under the supervision of the Senior Technical Advisor, the Project Associate will provide administrative and logistical support to MTPS project in Kenya. S/he will be responsible for the smooth execution of county-based and continuing professional development related activities. In addition, s/he will work closely with the MTPS Senior Technical Advisor (STA), Technical Advisor, Country Project Director, Finance team, other technical staff and consultants to ensure adegi to their activities and that administrative processes are carried through to satisfactory completion. The Project Associate will ensure that all administrative processes are compliant with MSH and USAID procurement and administrative procedures and guidelines. .
Key result areas;
• Act as a key administrative staff person on program activities and assists MTPS in tracking, and revision of work plans, expenditures, and budgets.
• In collaboration with the Senior Accountant and other designated contracts staff, ensure that all activity contracts or paperwork is in place for the MTPS program and track progress of the payments.
• Schedule and, as necessary, assist in organization of activities and documentation of activity deliverables in collaboration with MTPS project staff
Job Education Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of Bachelor's degree in project management or administration
Job Experience Requirements:
At least five (5) years' experience in administrative support within a large international projects including experience in management of USG projects and implementation of county-level activities.
Job Required Skills
• S/he should have strong administrative and organizational skills, demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in a complex and fast-paced environment.
• In addition, s/he should be proficient in relevant computer applications which includes word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and presentations (Microsoft Office applications preferred); and a willingness to learn new software packages
