Role Context
The Westerwelle Foundation is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to oversee and implement its projects in Kenya. The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, execution, and monitoring of various initiatives aimed at fostering international understanding and supporting civil society development in the region.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and oversee the implementation of project activities.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any challenges or risks.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including local partners, government agencies, and community members.
- Prepare regular project reports and updates for the foundation's headquarters.
- Ensure compliance with the foundation's policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the development of new project proposals and strategies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably within the non-profit sector or international development.
- Strong understanding of the Kenyan context and civil society landscape.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of German is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in project management.
