General Purpose
Our client, a leading Food Manufacturing Company, is seeking to recruit a Quality Assurance Intern to support the Quality Assurance team in ensuring that all food products meet established quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will assist in implementing quality assurance systems and monitoring production processes to maintain compliance with food safety requirements.
Location: Tilisi - near Limuru Town | Stipend: Ksh. 20,000
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure aging conditions are properly maintained in line with product requirements.
- Oversee colour preparation and handling in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor production processes to ensure all products meet quality, safety, and coding standards.
- Ensure finished products are stored under the required conditions and standards.
- Maintain hygiene standards for equipment, personnel, and the work environment.
- Verify that dispatch standards and procedures are consistently followed.
- Ensure quality records are accurately maintained in real time and archived as required.
- Conduct monthly verification of CCPs and OPRPs.
- Coordinate and maintain records for sensory evaluations.
- Manage non-conforming products, including documentation and corrective actions.
- Handle and document market returns.
- Conduct hygiene checks and participate in monthly GMP audits.
- Coordinate internal and external calibration of monitoring equipment.
- Support final product inspection including physical, chemical, and microbiological tests.
- Participate actively in Food Safety and Quality Assurance team activities.
- Ensure scheduled training programs are conducted and properly documented.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Dairy Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in quality assurance within the food industry is an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, or other food safety management systems is desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
