Job Summary
Responsible for the company’s overall compliance to all global standards and local regulations under which Greenblade operates. Responsible for implementation and maintain all requirements of all food handling and food safety global standards, manage the company food safety management system from the farm to delivery to the customer, training various staff members on food safety, quality and legality. Document and respond to all customer complaints and give a root-cause analysis on all customer complaints and work with the department responsible to resolve the same within the shortest time possible Ensure data is captured in all relevant data point in the production, processing, and export chains to ensure traceability is maintained and for the enhancement of yields, pack out and reduction of claims from customers
Principal Accountabilities
- Reduce customer complaints and product rejections from 5% to 3%
- Ensure 100% compliance to all applicable standards and practices.
- Ensure 100% compliance to farm, packhouse and commercial policies, procedures and systems.
- Work hand in hand with the Packhouse Manager and Human Resource Manager to identify training and audits required in the package in regard to food safety, quality and compliance with the Employment Act.
- Ensure quantity and customer specification is followed all the time during production in the pack house.
- Organize training regarding food safety.
- Maintenance of all technical standards e.g. BRC, SMETA, Global GAP in the package.
- Technical: certifications, customers' requirements, MRL issues, quality claims.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Reporting: Ensure timely and appropriate reporting to the line Manager.
- Conduct root cause analysis on return from the customer and hand over the report to relevant department for action.
- Maintaining the claim level within the budgeted level.
Minimum Qualifications & Competencies
- Minimum bachelor’s degree Agriculture in food science or a related course
- A Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar work environment.
- Excellent communication skills, a problem solver with strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of quality assurance.
- Solid knowledge of relevant regulatory standards.
- Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
- Team player with ability to work effectively and make decisions independently.
- Commercial awareness and sound business knowledge
