Better Living Hospital (Seventh-day Adventist Health Services) is a faith-based healthcare institution owned and operated by the East Kenya Union Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. As a hospital, we believe in the well being of the whole person and therefore make the preservation of health as well as the healing of the sick a priority.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to fill the position of a Radiographer/Sonographer in our institution.

Role Summary

Ensure provision of efficient and quality radiographic services.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Operating ultrasound and X-ray equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs and tissues.
  • Performing warm-up sequences on the scanner to prolong the life of the x-ray tubes
  • Understanding and interpreting of doctors scanning instructions accurately
  • Administer radio contrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues.
  • Assessing X-ray and ultrasound scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.
  • Taking patients through the scanning procedure to ensure their comfort and providing support throughout the process.
  • Continuous monitoring of patients through the procedure while following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
  • Formulating daily procedure schedules for emergency case and walk-in clients
  • Keeping tabs on supplies and ordering stock on time
  • Filling out the required paper work on the patients’ records and other relevant documentation as required by the hospital’s management.
  • Implement continuous improvement procedures and personal education.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences.
  • Registered and with a valid license from Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority.
  • Proficient in computer applications with good communication & Interpersonal skills
  • Must be competent in the referred modalities

Experience needed

  • Two (2) years working experience in a similar position.
