The Kenya School of Law (KSL) is the only bar school in Kenya. After their completion of an Undergraduate Degrees in Law from a recognized university, students attend the Kenya School of Law to be prepared for admission to the Kenyan Bar. The Kenya School of Law was established as a law vocational training school in 1963.
Responsibilities or duties
The duties and responsibilities at this level entail: -
- Ensuring that letters are appropriately filed and marked to action officers;
- Controlling and opening of files and updating file index;
- Ensuring security of information/files in the registry;
- Up-dating and maintaining up-to-date file movement records;
- Ascertaining the general cleanliness of the registry; and
- Certifying that pending correspondence and bring-ups are checked and appropriate action taken;
- Renewing file covers;
- Ensuring proper handling of documents, pending correspondence and bring-ups; and
- Receiving and dispatching letters and maintaining related registers.
Qualifications or requirements
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
- Diploma in Records Management/ Information Management/ Information Science/ or equivalent from a recognized Institution;
- Proficiency in Computer Applications; and
- Meet requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
