JOB DETAILS:

Responsibilities or duties

• Teach the principles, texts, doctrines, and practices of major world religions and local belief systems.
• Supervise students in comparative religion studies and field research on religious communities.
• Conduct research on the role of religion in society, politics, conflict resolution, and social cohesion.
• Train students in qualitative research methods for the study of religious beliefs and practices.
• Develop teaching materials on religious ethics, spirituality, and religious responses to modern challenges.
• Guide students in understanding the intersection of religion and culture, health, and development.
• Collaborate with faith-based organizations on research and community outreach initiatives.
• Setting, moderating, invigilating and marking examinations.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

i. Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution; and possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.

ii. Applicants must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.

iii. Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research;

iv. At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.

v. Master's holders registered for PhD may be considered

vi. Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.

Experience needed

At least two (2) years teaching experience in a university.

The successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the existing Terms and Conditions of Service.
