The Water Resources Authority is a State Corporation under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, established as a corporate body under Section 11 of the Water Act (2016). WRA is designated under the Act as an agent of the National Government responsible for regulating the management and use of water resources. The Management of the Authority wishes to identify and recruit capable officers in the underlisted position.
Responsibilities or duties
An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a Principal Resource Mobilization Officer. Resource Mobilization function This cadre is responsible for designing and implementing resource mobilization, partnership and linkages in line with established policies and practices to grow and maintain diversity and funding to water resources. The role shall include seeking partnership nationally, regionally and internationally. Duties and Responsibilities will entail:
- Conducting research on potential donors;
- Analysing country, regional and global resource mobilization trends;
- Assisting in developing data collection tools;
- Preparing project proposals for funding agencies;
- Identifying growth opportunities;
- Updating donor databases to record their contacts and preference information;
- Updating a network of donor and strategic partnership records contacts; and
- Collecting information, data, intelligence gathering, and analysis of development partners’ trends.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:
- Served for a minimum of three (3) years cumulative relevant work experience, in the position of Resource Mobilization Officer II;
- Bachelor's Degree in any of the following fields, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Development, Development Studies, Economics, International Relations or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
- Supervisor Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks;
- Proficiency in computer applications;

Terms of Service and Remuneration Successful candidates will serve for a probationary period of six (6) months thereafter convert to Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service. Remuneration will be subject to the existing terms approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission. Compliance with Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 The Authority shall require successful candidates offered employment to comply with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 by submitting valid clearance certificates from the relevant institutions as listed below: (i) Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) (ii) Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) (iii) Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (iv) Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) (v) Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) WRA is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and gender equality.
