ROLE PURPOSE
The RPA Support Specialist is responsible for the design, development, support, and continuous improvement of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions within the Bank. The role ensures the delivery of resilient, scalable, secure, and reusable automation solutions in line with RPA best practices, group policies, and regulatory requirements.
The role oversees the full automation lifecycle—from feasibility assessment and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and production support—while collaborating closely with business analysts, architects, technology risk, and security teams to deliver process efficiencies and operational stability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyse and assess automation opportunities, determining feasibility and supporting testing, deployment, and ongoing production support.
- Design, develop, and maintain RPA workflows and reusable components in accordance with approved RPA standards, methodologies, and security policies.
- Engage stakeholders to gather and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements, including licensing, data protection, and security considerations.
- Create and execute test cases covering functional, negative, exception-handling, and performance scenarios.
- Provide end-to-end lifecycle support for RPA solutions, ensuring timely delivery using agile methodologies.
- Monitor, administer, and support automated processes and digital workers to ensure high availability and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Technology Risk and Information Security teams to ensure compliance with the Bank’s security and regulatory standards.
- Participate in design authority and peer reviews to maintain architectural integrity and solution quality.
- Manage incidents and escalations, including coordination with RPA vendors for defect resolution and production releases.
- Perform code, version, and release management using GIT, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing frameworks.
QUALIFICATIONS
Academic and Professional
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computing, Engineering, or a related field (Required).
- RPA certifications such as UiPath, Power Automate, or Automation Anywhere (Required).
- Knowledge of high-level programming languages including Java, C#, PHP, or JavaScript.
- ITIL certification (Desirable).
- Master’s Degree (MSc or MBA) is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in technology roles.
- At least 3 years’ experience in RPA development or support.
- Experience with agile delivery methodologies.
- Exposure to system integration, process mapping techniques, and emerging technologies such as machine learning or chatbots is desirable.
COMPETENCIES
- Strong understanding of RPA architecture, design principles, and automation best practices.
- Ability to analyse complex business processes and translate them into effective automation solutions.
- Knowledge of banking systems, regulatory requirements, and information security controls.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex, integrated system environments.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control tools.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- High attention to detail, quality-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in an agile environment.
