Our client is a B2B food distribution company serving restaurants, hotels, and food service businesses across Nairobi. We supply the products that kitchens rely on every day, and we are building something different from the typical distributor: a structured, technology-driven sales operation where every rep has clear tools, playbooks, and support to succeed.

If you have ever worked in hospitality and thought about moving into a commercial role, or if you are early in your sales career and want a company that will invest in your development rather than leave you to figure it out alone, this role could be a great fit.

The Role

You will manage a territory of food service and hospitality accounts in Nairobi. Your job is to grow revenue by developing relationships with existing customers and bringing in new business. This is a field role. You will be out visiting restaurants, hotels, and catering companies most days, understanding what they need, and making sure our client is their preferred supplier.

What your week looks like:

  • Visiting existing customers to grow their orders and expand the products they buy from us
  • Prospecting for new business within your territory through visits, referrals, and networking
  • Logging your activity and pipeline in our mobile CRM (we will train you on this)
  • Following up on collections and supporting customers through our credit process
  • Attending a weekly team huddle where we review performance and share what is working
  • Using our product playbooks to identify upsell opportunities and have better sales conversations

What to Expect

You will receive structured onboarding with clear milestones for your first 90 days, ongoing coaching, and the tools to do your job well. We invest in developing our team rather than expecting you to figure it out on your own.

Who This Role Is For

We are not looking for a specific CV. We are looking for a specific kind of person. You might be:

  • Someone working in a restaurant, hotel, or catering company who understands hospitality from the inside and wants to move into a commercial role with higher earning potential
  • An early-career sales rep (0 – 2 years) in FMCG, retail, or any customer-facing role who is ready for a structured environment that will develop your skills
  • A career changer who is naturally good with people, hardworking, and excited about earning based on your effort

What matters most to us:

Work ethic: This is a field role. You will be on the road visiting customers and prospects across Nairobi every day, not sitting behind a desk. You are the kind of person who plans their route in the morning, hits 6 – 8 visits a day, and follows through on every commitment you make to a customer. You do not need to be chased or reminded.

Communication: You know how to talk to customers professionally, handle difficult conversations calmly, and resolve problems without making them worse. When a delivery is late or an order is wrong, you pick up the phone, own the situation, and find a solution rather than hiding from it.

Coachability: You welcome feedback, follow systems, and improve quickly. You prefer “show me how” over “I already know.”

Tech comfort: You are comfortable using a smartphone and apps daily. No technical skills needed, just willingness.
