School Counsellor

To provide social, emotional, and academic guidance to students, promoting positive mental health and well-being within the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students.
  • Address issues such as bullying, stress, exam anxiety, and peer pressure.
  • Develop and implement guidance and counseling programs.
  • Liaise with teachers and parents regarding student welfare concerns.
  • Conduct workshops on life skills, career guidance, and mental health.
  • Maintain confidential counseling records.
  • Identify students at risk and provide intervention strategies.
  • Support students during crises or traumatic events.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling Psychology or Guidance and Counseling.
  • Registered with the Kenya Counsellors Association (KCA) or relevant body.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a school setting.
  • Empathy, active listening, and strong communication skills.
  • Certification in safeguarding and child protection.
